Turgut Kocaman grew up in Istanbul and studied stage & costume design at Mimar Sinan Fine Art University. Since 2011 he is based in Berlin.
His work aims to let objects, characters, and forms be revealed through the subconscious experimentally, depicting their stories and interaction. This opens up a deeper questioning of how the reality we live in today relates to the surreal and abstract world.
As an artist, he works as a stage, costume, mask designer and painter in theaters, performances, tv sets. His skills are in the plastic arts to create mixed medium forms with all kinds of materials, colors and textures in both analog and digital scapes.
